The police, asking for a remand, said that the quarrel occurred on the dock of the thip after a short argument. The men agreed to settle the matter with J razors, and the fight was to lie n> the i death. Gray was severely eul about I the chest and forehead, and there was a I severe gash in his throat, necessitating an operation, lie was removed to Sydney hospital. The injured man iias ■ slightly improved after the operation j though he will have to remain in hospital i for some time. J Ac-used lias been remanded until May ;4. Nail was not applied for.
