At the conference of the Wellington Provincial Dairy Farmers' Union, the Mayor, Mr. Nathan, who formally opened the conference, said the dairy industry was suffering from irregular shipments. This produce mould reach the London market at a time when other countries in Kurope would be producing tinder conditions which would enable them to place their output on the market at the lowest cost. He advocated fortnightly slnpments. Ships might mako six trips, whereas now they were making four because they had to cail at the smaller ports on the coast. This was a costly business.
