AFRICAN DUMPING DUTY. LIMITING ITS SCOPE. *" PRICES PROFITEERING. (Received 2.H0 p.m.) CAPETOWN, May 2. In the House of Assembly the Minister of Finance announced a revision of the tariff proposals whereby the dumping duty would not exceed 25 per cent of the freight. The dumping duty is confined to goods whose value, including freight, does not exceed £10 per ton. The Premier announced that lie intended to re-enact the clauses in the Profiteering Act empowering the board to take action in eases of complaints of manufacturers refusing to supply goods to retailers who sell under fixed prices.— (A. and X.Z.
