Canon Gou'd had been a resident of New Zealand for To years, having come out to Bishop Sol- | wyn. After his ordination he started a school at Ray of Islands and was sab-e----quently vicar at Otahuhu for many years , until he retired. He had resided "at Gisi borne for about three year?. i Canon Gould was " one of the first ■ students at St. John's College. Tamaki. iHe was for some time stationed at Bay of Islands, and later for a long period was vicar at Otahuhu. Upon retiring from active ministry on account of advancing years. Canon Gould lived for ; a long while at Onehunga. The last few j years he spent with a daughter at Gisj borne, where his death occurred- DeI ceased was a fine type of Englishman I and highly esteemed by many friends. He is survived by thirteen sons and daughI ters. MR. \V. D. WEBSTER. (By Telegraph— Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, this day. The death is announced of Mr. W. D. Webster, who was born on board the William Bryan, the first ship to arrive here (March, 1841). I
