PAINTERS' CONFERENCE.
DOMINION AWARD DISCCSSrJD. The New Zealand Painters and Decorators' Conference was resumed this morning. The proposed Dominion award was discussed, and six assessors were appointed to sit on the Conciliation Council. It was decided to ask the Public Works Department. Municipalities and Power Boards to have all electric switchboards covered so that painters working around them will not be subject to shocks. The Government is to be approached with a view to having the Workers' Compensation Act amended by the deletion of the clause that prevents claims for lead poisoning being brought after twelve months has expired from the date the poisoning is alleged to have occurred. The conference will conclude this afternoon.
