ON INCENDIARISM CHARGE. One of the three young men who were charged with iucendiarism last week in connection with lires at Avondale appeared before Mr. I. W. Poynton. S.M.. agnin this mottling. Accused. William Frederick Braithwaite, win. was rep resented by Mr. MeYeagh, bad [.leaded not guilty, and his Worship reserved decision as to whether a prima facie case bad been established. The Magistrate said: "In this case there is hardly any evidence, except that of accomplice's. It is the duty of the judge trying such a charge to warn the jury that it is unsafe ti. convict mi the uncorroborated testimony of an accomplice. The statements made by the other two. who have p leaded guilty. when they were first interviewed by Ihe police, have since been altered in favour of accused. Both now say be was not present when the school was set mi tin. and I feel that it would be useless sending him for trial. He will be discharged."
