LABOUR AND PROHIBITION.
MAJORITY FOR LICENSE. CRIME AND TEETOTALISM. (Tteceivevd 10.30 a.ni.i LONDON, April 4. At the Labour Conference the vote on the prohibition question resulted in 152 voting in favour of prohibition and Kill c.gainst. Mr. John Carnegie, of Dundee, replying to those who urged that drink led to crime and degradation, said that one of the largest bank robberies in (Ilasgow was due to teetotallers, and Ocrald Lee Bevan was the president of a temperance society. Cries of "What about Bottomlcy?" arose, and Mr. Carnegie replied that all Bottomley's schemes were fixed up when he was sober.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
