VALUES A TRIFLE FIRMER. Messrs. A. Buckland and Sons report that at their weekly fat stock sale at Westfiold to-day there was an extra heavy yarding of beef, totalling S'26 bead, and comprising .581 steers. -219 cows and heifers, and 2G bulls. There was a keen demand for all choice and prime beeT. an 1 in some cases values were a trifle firmer than at the previous sale. Plain cattle and rough beef were unchanged. Extra choice ox beef made £1 4/, choice and prime £1 1/ to £1 3/G, ordinary and plain 17/ to l!)/fi, prime young cow and heifer beef 17/ to £1, ordinary cow 13/ to 10/. rough 5/ to 10/. Heavy prime steers ranged in price from £9 10/ to £10 17/6, lighter prime £7 10/ to £9 5/, light prime 10/ to £7 5/, unfinished and small £3 10/ to £o 5/. Extra heavy young prime cows and heifers realised £5 10/,, three show heifers averaging £10 15/. Heav£ prime young cows and heifers made £4 to £5 o/, lighter £3 to £o 15/, others up to £2 15/, and bulls up to £5 2/0.
