A COUNTER PROPOSAL. (Received 2 p.m.) LONDON', March 27. The Council of the Associated Chant* bers of Agriculture discussed the Merchandise Marks Bill. Lord Deerhurst suggested that instead of insisting on the marking of foreign meat, a better plan would be to copy the French practice, and mark all home-produced meat. — (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
