IARGE AREA UNDER WATER. KING SAVES THE PALACE. (Received 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, March 27. The "Daily Mail's" Bagdad correpondent reports that (he Tigris burst jts banks seventeen miles north of Bag|nd, which is almost an island. A hunIred square miles of the surrounding country are flooded. The civic gaol wae leraolishcd but the prisoners were kved. An artificial embankment is holding iround Bagdad, and the civil and miliUry cantonments are safe. i King Feisul was responsible for bving the palace and the cultivated pound near by. He personally directed lie bodysuarj filling a breach in the hnbankment, while the Arab army Itrengthened weak points. Both the Breat and Lesser Zab Rivere, two large Hreams between Bagdad and Mosul, Ire pouring their swollen waters into lie Tisrru;.
