MISSIONARY RALLY.
In connection with the sitting of the Congregational Union of Xew Zealand in Auckland, a young people's mission*v rally was },eld last evening in Beresford Street-Congregational Church, which was well .attended. The Rev. Harry Johnson presided. A i, n j que f ea tmc was the cables extending from the back gallery to the auditorium. Down this glided by a model aeroplane representatives from the various theatres of activity of the London 'Missionary Society." Two scholars fronv.Mt. Kden Sunday school represented the South Sea Islands, two from Greer. Lane school Africa, two from Beresford Street China, two from Devonport India. All the children were costumed to suit the countries they purported to represent. Another scholar represented the Rev. Carey, one of the early missionaries in India, and another from Ht. Roskill represented Dr. David Livingstone, the missionary explorer of Africa. Recitations were ffiven by the ' scholars, regarding the work of the j LM.S. in tlie respective mission fields Twenty Rarotongan and Samoan | students from St. Stephen's school san" nynms in their own language, and one | contributed an instrumental solo. The rally was a decided success. i
