DROP TX PRICES. tßy Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUXEDIN7 Friday. The third wool sale of the season was opened here to-day. The associated brokers submitted 21,334 bales, and: about ST, per cent were sold. The bench of buyers was fully representative and competition was keen, especially for halfbreds, threequarter-breds. crossbreds, and particularly so for pieces. Trices generally may be summarised as follows, compared with last month's sale:—Merinos, 10 to 15 per cent lower: super halfbreds, par to 3 per cent higher; medium and low halfbreds. 5 to 10 per cent lower: fine crossbreds, 5 to 10 perl cent lower: coarser crossbreds. 7_ to 12_ per cent lower; pieces and bellies, par to 5 per cent higher. A number of the clips on offer were equal to anything seen this season, but the bulk was not up to the previous standard offering. The local mills were buying on a restricted scale, their requirements for the season being practically filled. America was also buying sparingly. 1 and then only super lots. Continental buyers did not operate largely except for pieces. Bradford, local speculators and scourers secured the bulk of the wool. Crutchings went mostly to Japan, nothwithstanding reduced limits generally. 1 Dunedin had the honour of securing the record price for the Dominion, Mr. G. A. Sutherland, of Macrae's, selling one bale of super merino shorn from imported Victorian rams at 30d per lb.: The range of prices was as follows:—! Merino.—Extra super, 30d; super. 22d to 25d; average, l!Hd to 2Hd; inferior,, 17d to 19d.
Fine Halfbred.—Extra super. 25d to' 26Jd; super, 22d to 24Jd; average, 18id to 21Jd; inferior, lod 18d. I Medium Halfbred.—Ex'tra super, 23d to 24jd; super, 21d to 22* d: average, 17d to 20Jd; inferior, 13d to" 16d. j Coarse Halfbred.—Extra super. 20.d; ' super, 17d to li)d: average, Hid to 16d; inferior, lid to 14d.
