! " The fortnightly meeting of the Otahuhu (Borough Council was held last evening, the Mayor, Mr. B. B. Todd, presiding. A letter iwus received from the Minister of Xrabour stating that as Otahuhu and Papatoetoe had not decided on the weekly fcaJf-hollday, he had appointed Saturday. The Medical Officer or Health wrote dealing with purification of water in the storage reeervoir- It was decided to obtain Information as to the cost of a chlorinatlon plant. i A letter was received from Messrs. Stan-' ton, Johnson and Spenre re sub division of Sir. T. Short's property. It was resolved thut the seal of the Council be affixed. A portion of the late Mr. Alfred Sturge's propert; was similarly dei>lt. with. A report from the Legal and 'Finance Committee recommending that the Council accept the offer of the trustees of the estate of the late Thomae Waddell in regard to the dedication of a strip of land In Athlon Lane was ndontpd. ! A report was received from the foreman as follows:— Great South Road.—(Men are now engaged' patching thto road, and all efforts are concentrated on this work while the good weather lasts. The work of the new reservclr is progressing satisfactorily. Levels on Great South Road at the Junction with i Station Road were taken with a view or • ■clearing the storm water that accumulates ,at Mr. Pearson's corner. A comprehensive ! report on the matter was tendered, costing approximately £129. The Council agreed to provide a cesspit ito carry the etorm water from iFark Road.
