PT. CHEVALIER GRIEVANCES.
(To the Editor. I Sir, —Two years ago Point Chevalier wad voted into the city of Auckland. Can any person inform mc what advantages \ve residents have gained by doing so? Firstly our rates have been increased by over 100 per cent. Secondly our roads are in a worse condition* than when controlled by the Road Board. Thirdly, and worst of all, .we have lost our port office. This was prophesied by a few wise old residents, who fought bitterly against Point Chevalier joining the city. To-day 1 received a moneyorder, payalble at Point Chevalier Post Office. There being no post office here r paid my fare to the U.P.0.. yueen Street," which cost the sum of 2/8 return, by "bus and tram. On reaching my destination I made inquiries and was referred to Mt. Albert post office, but there, I was informed, they knew nothing " of .Point Chevalier post office business, and referred mc again to Grey Lynn or Wellesle.v Street Post Office." ["am now wondering whether T.-shall, in the end. have to book mv passage to Wei-1 lington to get a 1(5/- money order changed.—l am, etc., HOPEFUL.
