The claim of a Chinese woman who has arrived at Saigon, in French IndoChina, and who describes herself as the oldest person in the world is scarcely likely to be disputed. At the age of 131 she travelled, with a large retinue, from Haiphong (the principal seaport of Tonking) to Saigon.
