THE IMPERIAL INSTITUTE
NEW ZEALAND'S SUPPORT. (Received 12.30 p.m.l LOX.DOX, March 7. A committee composed of High Commissioners is completing an inquiry into the Imperial Institute's future, which is dependent on their findings resulting in increased activity or closing down. Australia's support is lukewarm, but New Zealand is enthusiastic. Sir -Tames Allen, interviewed, said the Institute was starving for want of money. The Dominion would support the great Imperial ideal of a splendid unifying influence in addition to practical uses. In these days, when the Dominions are feeling their strength, and have a tendency to act on their own, it was most important to keep alive such Imperial strings as tended to hold us together.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
