Quite a number of defended cases ■ were set down for hearing to-day at the Magistrate's Court. Several were disputes re agents, commissions un the sale of properties. All three magistrates were kept busy, but the cases were of little general interest, in the matter of G. W. Sutcliffe (Mr. Lennard) against G. McLean (Mr. Hogg), judgment was given for the plaintiff for the amount claimed £8, less the sum already paid. The claim was for payment for repairs to a motor-cycle. The defence was that the time taken over the }«it> was longer than should have : been necessary. Mr. E. C. Cutten, S.iL- j was on the bench. j
