RUGBY REFEREES.
THE ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Auckland Rugby Referees' Association was held Inst evening, Mr. A. Wetherilt presiding. The annual report stated that last season was a long one. In all the members of the association had refereed over 700 matches. Only three were missed, and this was not due to the referees appointed. The appointment board had had a trying time, but by a system of rotation and examination it endeavoured to give the members >a chance to prove their worth. An attempt had been made to grade the. referees. The following officers were elected: — President, Mr. C. F. Paull; vice-president, Mr. H. Cllffe; honorary secretary and treasurer, Mr. P. Peace: Executive Committee, Me«ers. J. Hall. W. J. Meredith. A. J. WakeSeld; delegate to the Auckland Rugby Union. Mr. K. Webster; vice-president to the New Zealand Rugby Referees' Association, Mr. C. F. Paull: member of Referees' Appointment Board, Mr. G. Grlgg; board of examiners of new members, Messrs. W. J. Meredith, G. Grigg, and H. CUffe.
