Dalgety and Co., Ltd., are In receipt of the following cable from their London offlce, under date of 27th inst.:— "Butter prices since our Inst wire are 2/ lower, l Market very quiet owing to recent heavy buying." INCREASED PRICE FOR BACON, At the last meeting of directors of the Bay of Plenty Bacon and Cold Storage Company, it was reported that as the whole of last season's stock hud been disposed of at prices a Uttle better than had been expected, the directors felt justified in increasing the advances on pork by id per lb., the payment to be retrospective to September 30, 1922. RISING SUN. The mine manager reports:—"During the week we have had the two pumps operating together. With the two pumps going. practically full bore the water was lowered a further twenty feet, making a .total of sixty feet below the collar of the shaft. According to calculations we are at present handling from 360 to 370 gallons per minute. The motor is doing good work «nd we are now getting 100 h.p. out of it without over-heating." WAIHI STOCK SALE. (By Telegraph —Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, Wednesday. The Waikato Farmers' Auctioneering Co. conducted a stock sale at Waihi Municipal Saleyards yesterday, about 300 head of mixed stock coming under the hammer. Dairy stock was in keen demand, but store ■tecrs and cows claimed little attention. Dairy heifers (18 months) brought from £3 R/ to £5 10/; dairy cows £5 to £11 10/; store steers £3 to £5 10/; store cows £1 5/ to £2 5/; bulls £2 to £5.
