Outrages continue in tihe west of Soutli Ireland, and business is suspended at many post offices as a result of ttietts by raiaers. Police raided a dilapidated house in tlie slums of Liverpool and seized a quantity of arms, ammunition, detonators and also correspondence in connection with the Irish rebels. Michael O'Douoghue was found on the premises and arrested.
The "Daily Telegraph's" Dublin correspondent states ttiat at an inquest on a iree State soldier killed during indiscriminate snooting in July, a verdict of wilful murder was returned againet persona unknown. This ia the hret time a i'ree State jury has returned a verdict of murder in a case of death resulting from coni'.ict between Republicans and tree Staters. Hitherto verdicts in both Government and anti-Government cases have been the colourless, "Death from bullet wounds." It is hoped the new departure means that juries are returning to a sense of civic responsibility.— (a. and N.Z. Cable.)
