MORRINSVILLE FLORAL FETE.

MORRIXSVILLE, Monday. Morrinsville was en fete on Saturday when a floral fete, a function not previously attempted here, was successfully conducted. Though the weather was threatening and rain fell throughout the afternoon, a large crowd attended. The entries of decorated vehicles and fancily attired figures were displayed in a procession through the town. A feature was the large number of children's entries, and their doll's prams, cycles and push carts were beautifully arranged. The fete and sale of produce was continued at Milliken I'ark, nnd was enlivened by the presence of the local jazz band. The proceeds are to be -donated to the St. Matthew's (Anglican) Church funds.

The following Jβ the prize list:— Decorated motor car. Miss Lowry 1; Mr.s. AVatts 2; decorated motor cycle, Mr. Cecil Wills 1; tradesmen's vehicles, Mr. D. Dendy 1, and 2; saddle horse and rider, E. Origg; decorated ladies' iy.-le. Miss K. Smith 1; men's cycle, K. Murray 1; decorated group, Durktown Dandies ]; decorated push cart, Mrg. Were 1; Mrs. Gifford 2; boy's cart or barrow, C. Osborne 1, Baker 2; child's tricycle, Matheraon 1: doll's pram (A Orade) Enid Crosby 1, Noel j Coombes ■2: (B Grade) Xeilie Oatca 1, Doris WattK 2; adults fancy dress: Prettiest, Miss Farrell 1; most original, Miss i Firmin 1. In the children's fancy dress competition the judges were unable to make a decision and the following tied for first place: Joy, Gavin, and Margaret Humphreys. Bubbles Humphries, •Tean and Gavin Gifford.

The following officiated as judges: "Mesdames S. S. Allen, TV. H. Milliken, T>. G. Mrlsaacs, Messrs. C. M. Gummer, TV. E. Jcrram, and F. A. Hannan.
