The sequel to an assault committee upon a Maori named Kowini Walkeq (commonly known as Murphy) William Halliday at Maungatautari «u> January 23, was heard in the local S.Jt Court before Mr. H. A. Young, S.M., an 4 occupied five hours. The charge against! Halliday was that he assaulted Maori with a bridle, inflicting twd wounds on hie head. Plaintiff atatej that he asked for wages due to himl which were refused.
