' THE WEEK REVIEWED » PRICES WELL MAINTAINED. Although there were fewer transactions recorded on 'Change during the past week, recent advances iv various investment stocks .ere well maintained. This was .particularly noticeable in respect to debenture Bines, for which premiums wpre offered In several cases, but no seller, quoted. Auckland Gas 6i per cent debentures could be iplaced at £103. and Auckland Harbour Board 6 per cent at £104. The 3* per cent Harbour Board debentures are wanted at £!IS, anil the 55 per cent at £97, which figure is also offered for City of Auckland 5i per cent. Gisborne Sheep Farmers' are stronger this week. £101 being offered at the third call yesterday. Mucky Logan's debentures are also wanted at a" premium ot 10/. Farmers' Union Trading debentures advanced their offers to £93. hut this did not bring out any seller. Government War H.oans were a little firmer this week, Soldiers' 5i per cent loan being now wanted lit £100 17/6, with no quoted seller under £102. The various 4i per cent loan., free of Income tax are wanted at £97, and the 5 per cent loan sold at 10/ above that figure. A rise of £3 took place in the buying offers for ordinary Loan and Mercantile stock, •which could now be placed at £S3, while the preference are wanted at £73. Colonial Sugar- Australian issue had a good adrance, buyers now offering £41. but no sellers are quoting. The Fiji issue also firmed a few shillings during the last couple of day . Bank of New South Wales shares are wanlted at £37 5/, an advance of 5/ for tlie . eefc. During the last few days a numoer of transactions .have taken place in N.Z. Insurance shures at 27/3. Auckland Gas. new issue, firmed a shilling during the •week, eales being made yesterday at 23/6. Shipping, timber and coal shares showed little change during the week. Taringamutu timber shares were, however, transferred yesterday at 31/6 Inquiry set In for Wellington Woollen shares and sales took place yesterday afternoon at £8 13/ and fS 14/, there being buyers left at the former rate. Kempthorne Prosser Drug are wanted at 57/. but no shares are offered. Takapuna T _m and Feri-v shares changed lands at tl _ third call yesterday at 17/, while 22/ ard 19/3 is offered for the respective issues of Auckland Trams, but no seller I quoted. Inquiry seisin again for Milk Product. Ltd;, at 20/7 but no shares were olTered. Wilsons Cement sold at 22/6 anil are wanted at threepence under thut figure. . alhi shares moved upwards this week several sales were made up to 31/ an advance of about 1/ for the week.
