THE POSTAGE REDUCTIONS.

SOME MISUNDERSTANDINGS. (My Telegraph.—l'ress Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. There is ; _ome confusion in the public mind as to the exact ei.eet of the recent postal reductions. One point on which there " liave been inquiries is outward postage from New Zealand. This, in conformity with the Island reduction, is now 1 *d, but the late fee for all letters remains at 2d. Numbers of letters are being posted late with, a l.d stamp. Another point is that the postal reductions do not affect duty stamps. Forgetful of this some people are using l.d stamps for the purpose instead of 2d stamps.
