J A mother's heroism was "ithe most remarkable incident of a tire in Portsmouth.. ; When the alarm was given she dropped j her seven-year-old daughter from a : window into the arms of the crowd, then I carried a three-year-old child into the street, and dashed hack to rescue another. She seized a thirteen-year-old son and struggled with him to the. j stairs. She then collapsed, hut was car- ! ried out by rescuers. \ Firemen penetrated the flames, and, ] found a crippled boy suffocated and a 1 little girl unconscious.
