THE AinrUAl. RETURNS. MORE MARRIAGES BY REGISTRAR. During the month of December there were 245 births registered in Auckland, as against 268 for December last year, making a total for the year of 3201, compared with 3300 for the year 1921. Deaths in December this year were 129, as against 130 for the final month of last year. This makes a total of 1610 ! deaths, as aaginst 1525 in 1921. Mar ■ riage notices issued were 219, compared with 232 in December, 1921. For the year the figures were 1948 for 1922> and 2006 for 1921. Despite the fact that fewer notices were issued this year there was an increase in the number of ceremonies performed by the registrar during the year, the figures being 464, as against 448. During the month just closed the marriages before the registrar were 49, as compared with 44 for the same month last year.
