'»•; It Iβ curious to find th;v.t. although hoy acout tj-oops have been in existence in AuckUanil for fourteen years, there is "till a portion of the public who do not understand ifhat all the work done by scoutmasters is It is done for the love of the tthing, without pecuniary reward of any kind : more often the scoutmaster puts his giand In his own pocket to supplement the .■very small l'uuda of the troop. It is often Jthe case t)iut not able to understand this, arc -inclined to treat the scoutMnaster as if Iv; were a. paid official, and consider thai their sons are doing him a tfnvour by joining lilh troop, though, really, if any favour.* , aw being done the hoot is "on the other foot.
