WAIKATO STOCK SALES. mJ . The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Co. report: Beef. —Good supplies are available although considerable purchases have beeu made of late by the export companies. Values generally are steady at about 26/ for prime ox, and 14/ to 16/ for prime cow. Mutton.— Rather better yarding* of mutton have been observed, but values are still very Arm and considerably beyoud export values. Lanibs.—The early drafts are now reaching the works, and in most cases killing sheets have been satisfactory. Reports from Southern centres indicate ■hlgner qjuotatlous than those prevailing here, 'but these. on Investigation, prove more in the nature of suggestion than reality, designed apparently for heading off competitors. Store Cattle. —The tone in the store cattle market is brighter, steers of all classes advancing in value. Heifers on the contrary are inclined to ease, a tendency which is in keeping with the custom of previous years.
.Store Sheep.—Very few 'lots have yet appeared on the market. A number of lines of ewes and lambs have been sold privately at high rates. Lambs suitable for rape have also been the subject of sules for later delivery. Pigs.—Bacon pigs have again advanced in value although It is unlikely that much further business will be transacted prior to the holidays. Store pigs are also In fair demand at proportionate rates.
