THE CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS.

A CITIZENS* TREE. At the Town Wall on Friday afternoon between 1250 and 1300 poor chil-

dren will receive the gifts provided by Rotarians and others. The children are collected from all quarters of the city by the city workers, and their ages range from three to twelve years. Donations of books, toys, or money are requested, and should be sent to the secretary's office, 614. New Zealand Insurance Buildings, not later than Wednesday evening. In addition to a toy, book, game, or other suitable present, each child will receive a bag of sweets, an apple, and a large balloon. The tree will be decorated and illuminated. The hall will be open free to the public, but the ground floor will be reserved for children and their attendants.
