FOUNDERING OF A TUG.
TWENTY-NINE LIVES LOST. SUFFERINGS OF SURVIVORS. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.* ORecelved 0.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, December 18. A message from Sault Bainte Marie, Michigan, states that it is believed that) 29 were drowned by the sinking of the tug Reliance in Lake Superior last; Wednesday. Seven survivors reached port in _a small boat after terrifying experiences, in a blizzard. They were blown ashore in a lonely part of the Canadian wilds, and suffered terribly from cold and hunger before they managed to reach the railroad. The captain's wife was amongst the survivors.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
