OBITUARY.
BROTHER MAURICE MOORE. Solemn Requiem Mass was celebrated this morning in the Sacred Heart Col lege Chapel for the repose of the soul oi Brother Maurice Moore, of the Marisl Brothers. A large gathering of clergy Marist Brothers, and relatives of de ceased, assisted at the last rites. Dr Liston. Coadjutor Bishop of Auckland spoke in a very appreciative manner ol the life-long work of the deceased as a missionary and teacher, and gave the last absolutions in the Church and a! the graveside in the Panmure cemetery where he was assisted by Monsignoi Hackett. The celebrant of the Mass was Rev. Father Kelly, assisted by Dr Buxton and Father Colgan, ex-students of the college. The einging of the Solemi Requiem was rendered by the Maris! Brothers and clergy of Auckland. amon< whom were Monsignor Cahill, Chancelloi Holbrook. and the Very Rev. Fathers Brennan, Bradley, Buckley, Mansfield O'Connor. Timothy, and Brother Denis, Provincial of the Marist Brothers. Sev eral sisters of the Order of St. Joseph in which Brother Maurice hud a sister were also present, and about 50 pupils o the Marist Brothers' schools. Brother Maurise Moore joined tin Marist order from the West Coast som< thirty years ago. He spent many yean in their schools in Fiji. He was a de voted teacher, having compiled a die tionary and grammar of the Fijian lan guage. He was also -well versed in astro nomv and architecture. The arduou'
work in the warm climate of the South Sea Islands weakened his constitution.
