INSTITUTE FOR THE BLIND.
The Jubilee Institute for the Blind had their breaking-up ceremony the other evening before the pupils were escorted to their various homes throughout the Dominion for Christmas and New Year holidays. The pupilsi gave a very good entertain-ment—class-singing, piano solos and duets, violin solos and recitations —and those present fully enjoyed it and were greatly surprised at the advanced state of some of the pupils. Mr. N. Alfred Nathan, in the; absence of the chairman (Hon. G. Fowldsi, was in the chair, and he congratulated the principal and his staff and the matron on the great progress and efficiency shown by the pupils. Sir Jehangir Kothari, presence, was so delighted with the *"ho honoured the gathering with his pupils' entertainment that he addressed a few words to them and iffecanie a life member and presented the institution with a cheque for £25. The entertainment concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, after which the pupils and friends partook of strawberries and cream and other refreshments.
