ANATOLIAN DISASTER.
BRITAIN NOT RESPONSIBLE. RELIEF OF REFUGEES. {Received 10.30 a.m.) LONDON", December 13. Mr. Donald McNeill, Foreign UnderSecretary, replying to a question, said he could not accept the suggestion that the late Government's Near East policy was partly responsible for the Greek disaster in Asia Minor.
In view of the British financial stringency the Government was not prepared to incur further expenditure on behalf of refugees who were not British subjects. — (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
