An important stage in the history of the Ponsonby Boys' Brass Band will be leached on December 25, when it will leave Auckland on a "rand tour of the Xorth and South Islands. Decemlier 30 and II; Timaru, January 1: Temuka, JanuIty 2; Christchurch and suburbs, January 2, 3. and 4: returning to Wellington and suburbs on January 5. 6, and 7; Masterton. January 8: Fahiatua and Palmerston, January 0: finishing at Taumarunui on January 10. At each of the towns drilling and smart marching music will he carried out during the afternoons, and rotunda concerts at Bight. The objective of the band comnittec is to create interest in band music fa the various centres and explain their System of band administration to anyone interested in starting brass band i'nitrnmentation with boys. The expense of the tour is naturally a heavy one. The band is leaving Auckland with recommendations from his Worship the Mayor, the notary Club, the Minister of Education, and th» goodwill of every section of the community.
