Advice lia 8 been received of the death at Masterton on Saturday of Mr. William Henry Lawrence Gahvav, who was manager at Auckland of the branch of the Bank of Xew South Wales. Deceased was Gl years of acre and arrived in NewZealand from England when a youth He entered the Wellington branch of the bank in 187 C, and rose to the position of accountant in that city. Afterwards he was manager at Hastings, Masterton, and Napier, being appointed to the charge of the Auckland branch in 1912 Mr. Galway has been in failing health for some time past. Last Easter he was granted six months leave of absence in addition to two months' holiday He went to Sydney, but his health did not improve, and returning to Xew Zealand he spent the last couple of months at Masterton, where he made many friends during his lon ? residence ther* as manager of the bank.
