A good nice for half tbe journey. but from then on the issue lay between Herd's and Brooker". crews, the former gettine the verdict by a canvas. Tbe final wet ween tbe i-rews stroked by Herd and Bryant was a hard battle. The issue was lii doubt until the last few yards, when Herd's crew established an advantage, giving them a win by two feet. Next Saturday trial fours will he he-_ for trophies donated by 'Mr A. Schmidt, and some very Interesting racing is anticipated. '
