NORTH AND SOUTH FORCES. IN CONTACT AT FOOCHOW. TOKYO, October 18. It is reported from Amoy, China, that American, Uritiv, and Japanese marines arc guarding foreign interests in Foochow. Southern forces completely control the vity, whild the river is controlled by the navy, ■whose status in the fighting between the North and South lias not yet been determined.
