TRAINING AND SUBSIDIES. (By Tele-graph.—Special to "Siar—l WELLINGTON, this day. Following on a conference of aviation companies of the Dominion, the Minister of Defence announces a new schedule of subsidies and proposals for future train- , ing. The subsidies will operate from the beginning of the financial year, April, 1112-2. and immediate steps will be taken to arrange for the formation of an air brunch of the reserve of officers, with a view to obtaining ex-R.A.F. pilots to undergo a refresher course. It is proposed to refresh 10 seaplanes and 2-1 aeroplane pilots. New subsidies and the carrying out of a refresher course by companies are temporary measures taken for the present financial year to assist civil companies by supplementing revenue earned from civil sources.
