Mr. Leonard Monk, personal representative cf Mr. Allan Wilkic, is in town. Sir Robert Stout, Chief Justice, left I for Whangarei last night. He expects to return on Monday. The Hon. T. M. Gilmofir, pathologist and bac-toTicilcgi-st at the Auckland Hosipital, returned from a visit to Dunedin yesterday. Mr. James Bishop, who is at in Auckland', is shortly to retire from tlie position of manager of the Taupiri Coal Mines Company, after eight years' service. Mr. M. O'Brien, Health Officer for the Manawatu district for the past 18 years, has retired on superannuation as from the end of August. Yesterday, Messrs. E. M. Edkins and A. Orr were re-elected to the directorate of the Auckland Farmers' Freezing Company. Mr. and Mrs. -Stuart Holmes, of Wellington, arrived nt -Auckland' this morning, and are staving at ifche Oont-ral Hotel. Dr. Meinihoild, of Hclensvillc, arrived last evening, and is. at th'; Ccnltrai Hotel. Mr. P. H&Uj-, Conciliation Commissioner, ha? returnod from Whangarei, where lie has been engaged with the llik'iirangi foal Mining dispute. Mt. Guy Madden, Melbourne, has been appointed Commissioner of the Supreme Court of Xew Zealand for the State of Victoria.
