RECONSTRUCTION IN FRANCE.
LARGE GERMAN CONTRACTS. MATERIAL AND LABOUR. BERLIN, September 22. It is reported that a large German building material company has concluded an agreement with French building firms for the reconstruction of devastated regions in France, the German company to supply materials and settle accounts. Tho French Government is supportng the scheme, which is likely to employ 150,000 workmen. The French Labour Department has agreed to permit the employment of foreign labour, including German, up to 50 per cent in Northern France.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
