DETAILS OF RECENT VOTING. A NARROW MAJORITY. A cablegram giving the tinal count of th.- referendum held in Sweden on the question of Prohibition has been received •by a 10-.v.l wholesale firm. SoS For Prohibition 202 112 In Stockholm: — Women voted acninst Prohibition 71 214 Women voted f„ r Prohibition.. U..572 Men voted against Prohibition... lis tkH kltn voted for I'lvhibitlon i'.UH It will be seen from these returns thai nearly two million votes were reCorded, and the votes wore so evenly divided thai there was only a majority of 4-1,*>35 against. Prohibition. The town, cave a majority of 203,386 against Prohibition, while the eountrv gave a majority of 15H.851 for Prohibition. The mo-t curious fact is the relative voting •f men and women in the capital— out of So.eSti women no lees than 71.214 Tote.l against Prohibition, while out of 76.328 men only 7664 voted for Prohibition. Tne cable further states that the Swedish Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, interviewed on the situation, said: "The results of the plebiscite proved beyond a doubt that the atempt to force Swedish people into Prohibition had failed. The real work for temperance must now be based on other grounds than Prohibition."
