WATERSIDERS' DISPUTE.

» THE RATE OF DISCHARC E. (By Telegraph. —Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Arbitration Court resumed hearing of the watersiders' dispute. J. P. Kenny, secretary of the Napier Harbour Board, produced returns of targo handled at Napier. In 1914 the average per hour per hatch was 15 tons; in 1920, 111 tons. Cargo handled at the Breakwater from two steamers in 1921 averaged 11.9 tons, and in three months of 1922, 13.21 tons per hatch per'hour, showing j a slight improvement for the last three months mentioned. These showed that less work was done on the same ships by the same number of men in latter years, and a substantial increase in cost; but there had been improvement in the last twelve months. ———— I
