CRITICISM OF NAURU. ATTITUDE OF THE LEAGUE. EARL BAXFOUR'S PROTEST. CBj Cable— Press Association.—Copjrielit.) 'Received I p.m.) OENEVA, September 4. The Council of the League of Nations met to-night to receive the Mandates Commission's report on Samoa. Nauru, and other mandated territories.
This report reiterated and emphfcsised the previous criticism, notably regarding Nauru.
Earl Balfour protested againet the adoption of the report unaccompanied by the commissioners' replies. The Council agreed non-comnutally to receive and transmit the report to the Assembly of the League. The mandates report wae prepared on behalf of the Conner! by the Marquis Imperiali of Italy, who submitted it to the Council.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
