NORTHCLIFFE'S FUNERAL.
CONCOURSE AT THE ABBEY. LONDON, August IS. A great concourse gathered inside and outside Westminster Abbey to pay a last tribute of respect to the late Lord Nortlicliffe. The long route to Marylebone Cemetery was lined by people of all | classos, standing bareheaded while the coflin, followed by a seemingly endless stream of cars, passed. A huge car, laden with floral tribuU-s from the highest to the humblest in the land, demonstrated the wide estcvni in which he was held.-(United Service.) An impressive funeral service was held at Westminster Abbey. General F. G. Cotter represented the Prince of Wales, and Sir Kdward Grigg the Prime Minister. The American and French Ambassadors and several of thp diplomatic corps were present, as well as Sir Joseph Cook and Sir James Allen.—A. and N.Z.
