CURRENT CLIP PROBLEMS. CONFERENCE IN MELBOURNE. SYDNEY, this day. Mr. Bernard Tripp. a New Zealand pastoralist who is holiday making in Australia, received an invitation from Sir John Higgins to attend the wool convention at Melbourne on August 29. The conference will discuss the procedure to be adopted in regard to the allocation and disposal of the carry over wool and the current dip of wool of the 1922----23 season, and will consider statistically the position of merino and crossbred wool and the stabilisation of the wool market, particularly in regard to crossbreeds.— (A. and N.Z. The Federal High Commissioner (Sir Joseph ( ook) has strongly protested against tlie action of the Pacific table Board in agreeing to the suspension of deferred messages owing to cable interruptions. LONDON", August 18. The Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve tendered a. dinner to Sir James Allen (High Commissioner for New Zealand). Responding to a toast, he referred to the New Zealand sheepowners' gift for the relief of distressed dependents of the men of the Navy and the mercantile marine.
