STRIKE IN NOVA SCOTIA.
MINERS DESERT PUMPS. CLASH WITH VOLUNTEERS. OTTAWA, August 17. In a clash between pickets posted by striking coalminers at Ulaee Bay, Nova Scotia, and volunteers to man the pumps, several persons were injured. The | strikers were victorious, and tiie minej officials were compelled to work the pumps. Tin? Dominion Minister of Defence (Mr. G. P. Graham) sent a detachment of several hundred troops to the scene of the disturbance upon the request of j the mine officials, j The Minister of T.ahour < Mr. .7.
