Mr. Spurrell spoke "fearllesslv. sure enough, and proved particularly entertaining to a number of voiui" men lmm-hed together, who were said to Ik- law students, and who -barracked ,, tlie speaker until at one period he threatened to {jet down amon<j them and reveal 'Ilia physical power.*, despite his 67 v-ars The burden of Mr. Spurrell's complaint was that judgment was entered by consent of counsel in a lawsuit in "whii-h he was involved at the Supremo Court. He claimed to have suffered by the judgment, which he said he had not authorised his solicitor to accept, and lie severely criticised Sir John Ralmond, •who refused to re-hear the case or <rant a new trial. °
