(Before -Mr. J. W. Poynton, S.M.) THEFT OF BANK NOTES. Alice Swaneton (28) pleaded not guilty to a charge, of having stolen .£2, the property of Albert Edward Driseoll.! Complainant stated that when taxed with the theft, ace-used did not deny it, and offered him £1 back, but he eaid that was no pood to him, and he informed the police. Swanston, who declared that complainant had given her Vbe money, was , convicted and remanded for sentence, co thai further inquiries might be made in the meantime concerning her character and past. YOUTH IN TROUBLE. A youth of 17 years, whose name was ordered to be suppressed, pleaded guilty . to a charge of breaking and entering the house of Robert Bell, at Whangaripo Valley, and stealing therefrom a quantity of tva and sugar. The theft of ten halfsovereigns was also mentioned in the charge, but this was denied by the lad. Accused wae committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. REMANDED. William Adolphus , Cunningham (45), who appeared in the dock with his head covered in a blood-stained bandage, was remanded to 23th inst., oil charges of having procured liquor whilst prohibited, having stolen a flower stand valued at S/(!. and having assaulted Constable Bailing, whilst that oflicer was in the execution of his duty.
