Leonard James Monk did not appear 11 at the Court this morning to defend a], case entered against him by W. S. J, Miller (Mr. West). ' ; Evidence was given by Mr. Miller that , he sold a Ford car to the debtor on tho • representation that the purchaser had , money lying , with a legal firm upon whioli he was willing ti« give an onier. , It was 'afterwards learned that the ear •had been sold by defendant for i.'il. Mr. AVest said ihe story about money I in the hands of a legal firm was found 1 not to be correct. Mr. J. E. Wilson. S.M., made an order for the payment forthwith of £143 18/1 I and costs, the alternative 'being throe I months' imprisonment. ! I
