The Public Works Board has accepted the tender of the Fletcher Construction Company of £11,942 for the erection, at Dunedin, of the automatic telephone exchange. Tenders will also be invited for the erection of a new main exchange for Wellington, which will cost in the vicinity of £50,000. When these buildings are complete, both in Wellington and Dunedin telephone systems will be entirely automatic.
